About District

Jagiroad co-district has been formed by the  order of the Governor of Assam published vide notification No 458412 / 76 dated 28^th September, 2024. It falls under the territorial Jurisdiction of Morigaon District of Assam.  The co-district shares its boundaries with Kamrup (M) ,Nagaon districts and West Karbi Anglong districts of Assam and the state of Meghalaya. The Co-District has many industries located within its territory including the Tata Semiconductor and Assembly Test Private Ltd. The Co-district is also rich in biodiversity. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is situated within the co-district at Pobitora. Mayong , the mystic capital of Assam is also located within the co-district. Apart from that there are Reserve Forests, Waterbodies, Hills , diverse flora and fauna.
